Dark Tower, my favorite board game of all time (even better than Risk or Stratego) kept us busy for a few hours on a May afternoon.  At the end – after confronting dragons, the plague, famine and endless battles with brigands, you came out victorious, raising the golden spectre for all to see. Congratulations Conquerer Camden!

a sure sign of summer

Ahhhh, baseball.  No sport represents summer better.

During the coldest, cruelest months of winter, major league baseball Spring training arrives, pitchers and catchers report to duty and our memory banks are instantly flooded with memories of ‘play ball’ visors over our eye days.

When warmer weather finally breaks through in April and May, New England springs (literally) to life and everyone smiles a lot easier.

Baseball is the harbinger of summer.

Did I smile easier when you started playing baseball today?  Did I enjoy sitting in my chair watching my athletic grandson enthusiastically begin a new season?  Did I appreciate the crack of the bat and watching red baseball seams fly through the air?

Yes, yes, yes, I did.

I always get a kick how you literally and figuratively get into whatever you’re doing – with zip and wham and boom and “I’m gonna try hard to be the best”unstoppable vigor.   You’re a full boat, jump-in-headfirst, no-holding back person –  I love that about you.  Camden Beaupre, you’re the Energizer, energizing yourself and everyone around you.

Play Ball!
