\u201cWe\u2019re off to Blue Job mountain,\u201d I said after picking you guys up in Dover and Madbury on a gray-sky day. \u201cAre you ready for some hiking?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeahhh!\u201d you shouted from the back of the Youk, the big white GM SUV that has brought us to and from so many adventures (along with our previous ride the black Lincoln Navigator SUV which Emma called \u201cthe alligator.\u201d).<\/p>\n

And then came the unavoidable question:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat else are we going to do?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

I gulped. I should have known better.\u00a0 After all, a 3M adventure has never been only one thing\u2026 it\u2019s a combination of things.\u00a0 I had nothing else in mind beside the hike!<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see, \u201d I said, scrambling for ideas, but finding none.<\/p>\n

\u201cTell us, tell us!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI will \u2013 but you have to be patient!\u201d\u00a0 That was the only reply I could think of!\u00a0 Maybe it would buy me a little time.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The sun was peeping out, the snow was finally gone, and we were going to enjoy our special outing.\u00a0\u00a0 Someone said hi to Ben \u2013 he is famous after all \u2013 so he led the way, taking the trail to the right. Up up up we climbed.\u00a0 About three quarters of the way, we paused for a quick break to check out the view below us.\u00a0 But the most interesting view was down, not up, and at our feet!<\/p>\n

We were surrounded by slithering root structures that popped out of the ground everywhere, threatening to entangle us in its venomous embrace.\u00a0 Yikes!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I took a selfie of all of us, the wild and crazy hikers.<\/p>\n

At the top, we sat and ate our snacks. Everyone had plenty of energy left so after a little more scampering about we decided to head back down the mountain and do the next thing on my list\u2026 which was\u2026. uh\u2026 I still didn\u2019t know!<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>By the time we got down Mt. Blue Job, it was much warmer and time for food.\u00a0 That made the next idea a slam dunk\u00a0 \u201cHow about lunch?\u201d I asked, \u201care you guys hungry?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m starved Camden said,\u201d followed by the inevitable \u201cwhere are we going to eat?\u201d\u00a0 I quickly flipped it around:\u00a0 \u201cWhere do YOU guys want to go?\u201d<\/p>\n

You didn\u2019t have any answers, so the pressure was back on.\u00a0 \u201cMan, there\u2019s no relief for the weary,\u201d I said to myself. \u201cwhat\u2019s nearby?\u00a0 where would they like to go?\u00a0 Then it hit me, a proven winner from the past:<\/p>\n

\u201cHow about Friendly\u2019s? You like it there right?\u00a0 We\u2019ll go to the same one we went to after we brought presents to St. Charles Children\u2019s Home at Christmas last year, remember?\u201d\u00a0 You did.<\/p>\n

They sat us fast and gave us quick service.\u00a0 Soon we were enjoying an assortment of club sandwiches, mini cheeseburgers, fries, milk and shakes.\u00a0 And oh yes, sundaes.\u00a0 Energy restored, we piled back into the Youk.\u00a0 You immediately asked:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere are we going next?\u201d<\/p>\n

I needed to pull something out of my hat, and fast!\u00a0 What could we do, where could we go?\u00a0 We had already been on a hike, it wasn\u2019t summer so swimming was out, no one wanted to be cooped up inside\u2026. hmm, what were my options?<\/p>\n

Then it dawned on me.\u00a0 We\u2019d go to a place where we could all still stay outside, where you could definitely have fun, a place you hadn\u2019t been in awhile, a place that had recently opened up its full assortment of games and services as Spring sprung.<\/p>\n

Saved by my last minute idea, and knowing the pressure was now off, the ride to Rt. 108 was a breeze and went by fast.\u00a0 As we turned into Hilltop Fun Center you voiced your pleasure with the choice.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre we going to play miniature golf first?\u201d Emma asked, and that\u2019s exactly what we did.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Ben was crazy, getting down on the ground to blow his ball into the hole:<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> After miniature golf, Emma and Camden zipped around on the go-carts as Ben and I watched.\u00a0 Round and round you go, where it stops, everybody knows!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I wasn\u2019t surprised when you asked, \u201cCan we play some of the games?\u201d We bounded inside and soon you were working hard, trying to win as many tickets as possible.\u00a0 Emma won the prize when her tickets just kept coming out and out and out and out! We were all laughing our heads off, there were so many!<\/p>\n

Our second 3M adventure of 2014 was a success as you headed home with an assortment of mini prizes.<\/p>\n

There was a moment of silence before I heard today\u2019s inevitable question:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen\u2019s the next 3M adventure Papa?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
