{"id":494,"date":"2014-01-06T20:38:22","date_gmt":"2014-01-06T20:38:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/?p=494"},"modified":"2015-04-23T20:14:26","modified_gmt":"2015-04-23T20:14:26","slug":"hockey-star","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/?p=494","title":{"rendered":"a hockey star emerges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Steal, skate, shoot, score!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s what you did over and over again at your latest hockey game at the Dover Arena rink.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0107.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-495\" title=\"IMG_0107\" src=\"http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0107-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"388\" srcset=\"http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0107-1024x682.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0107-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0107-450x300.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a>You&#8217;ve come so far since your early days on the ice, struggling to stand and remain balanced.\u00a0 I appreciate what you can do because I was a horrible skater as a kid.\u00a0 My ankles were so weak I couldn&#8217;t stand up straight and was truly pathetic.\u00a0 My favorite part about skating at the Lion&#8217;s Club rink in Somersworth &#8211; no lie &#8211; was listening to the rock &amp; roll songs playing over the speakers outside. \u00a0 Skiing, I liked; skating, <em>not so much.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Every Sunday during the winter you play a series of five-on-five matches.\u00a0 They divide the rink into three sections and six teams go at it for a total of 30 minutes per game with one minute shift changes.<\/p>\n<p>You love playing offense in particular, and your confidence is sky-high.\u00a0 On a typical Sunday across the three games, you often score 10-15 goals!\u00a0 The best part is what you do after scoring&#8230; having seen NHL players do their thing, you bend one of your knees while skating and pump your fist in the air&#8230; and you <em>always<\/em> look into the stands to make sure your &#8220;fans&#8221; are watching the celebration.\u00a0 Of course, we are!\u00a0 Too funny!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0113.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-496\" title=\"IMG_0113\" src=\"http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0113-682x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"584\" height=\"876\" srcset=\"http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0113-682x1024.jpg 682w, http:\/\/camden.papabeaupreblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/IMG_0113-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 584px) 100vw, 584px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Steal, skate, shoot, score!
