I recently completed a list entitled \u201c101 things to do ON the beach\u201d and dedicated it \u201cto my grandchildren.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the 17 summers we\u2019ve owned our beach house in Moody Beach (which is the northern part and private part of Ogunquit Beach) I\u2019ve never tried anything related to golf.\u00a0 As I was creating my 101 things to do list, it occurred to me this would be a good addition under the category of mini golf.<\/p>\n

Last week I went to Dick\u2019s and bought three kid-size putters (real ones) and a box of Angry Bird golf balls \u2013 each one with a different character.<\/p>\n

So when I heard you and your family were visiting us, I was ready to go.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a> Our 10 hole course was constructed in the hard sand of low tide (my favorite time at the beach).\u00a0 It featured chutes, drops and obstacles. Ben and I built it together with help from Emma over the first four holes.\u00a0 Your family was at a reunion in Scarboro, otherwise you would have joined in!<\/p>\n

We had a blast with the miniature golf course on a very hot day.\u00a0\u00a0 Ben, Emma and me played the first game, then later on Uncle Josh tried out the course, then you came, then your Dad joined in.\u00a0 You were very excited to see what we had created!<\/p>\n

My favorite of the 10 holes was the long, downward-sloping ramp we made by digging the tip of the shovel hard into the sand for 20-feet or so into a hole.\u00a0 The golf ball sped down the chute and dropped right into the cup when we hit it perfectly.<\/p>\n

I wonder which of the 101 ideas we\u2019ll try next!<\/p>\n
